Lancôme is L'Oréal's flagship luxury beauty brand, founded in 1935 and acquired by L'Oréal in 1964. Fragrance has been part of the lineup since launch but the modern era really starts with Trésor (1990) and accelerates with La Vie Est Belle (2012), which became one of the best-selling feminine fragrances of the entire decade. The catalog skews sweet, gourmand, and pink (Trésor, Trésor in Love, Hypnôse, Idôle, the various La Vie Est Belle flankers), engineered for broad appeal and high projection. Not where you go looking for restraint.
