Maison Margiela

Maison Margiela's Replica line launched in 2010 with a concept that nobody else was running with: each fragrance is named after a memory or place (Beach Walk, Jazz Club, By the Fireplace, At the Barber's). The bottles are deliberately apothecary-plain, the marketing is the concept, and the juices are mostly very good. Most of the line is composed by IFF perfumers under brand direction. The Jazz Club fragrance alone has done more for tobacco-and-rum accords than the entire rest of the decade.
