osmanthus

A Chinese flower that smells like apricot jam and soft leather had a polite conversation. Fruity at first sniff, then unexpectedly suede-like underneath. Less obvious than jasmine, more interesting than peach. Osmanthus is the signature of Jo Malone Osmanthus Blossom and Hermès Osmanthe Yunnan. Sits in the heart for hours, giving a fragrance a velvety, slightly retro warmth without ever feeling sweet.
