sandalore

The modern stand-in for real sandalwood, which is now mostly protected or extinct in commercial use. Sandalore is creamier, slightly sweeter, and more uniform than the natural oil, with a soft milky finish that lingers on skin. Lacks the depth and complexity of true Mysore sandalwood but performs reliably for hours. The backbone of almost every "sandalwood" fragrance released since 2000. Pairs with everything: rose, oud, vanilla, musk.

Also known as: synthetic sandalwood, ebanol, polysantol
