Creamy, milky, almost lactic: softer than cedar and warmer than vetiver. Mysore sandalwood (the Indian original) is now mostly extinct in commercial use; Australian sandalwood is the modern stand-in and reads slightly drier. The note that makes a base feel cozy rather than dark.
