thyme

Sharp, slightly medicinal, with a warm peppery undercurrent: think crushed thyme leaves on a sun-warmed stone. More herbal than rosemary, less camphorous than sage. Thyme adds a wild, almost rustic green note to aromatic compositions and classic fougères. A workhorse in Mediterranean-style colognes. Sits in the opening and faded into the heart over an hour or two. Pairs well with lavender, citrus, and oakmoss.

Also known as: thyme oil, wild thyme, red thyme
