fir

Smells like a fresh-cut Christmas tree, but greener and less candy-like than the candle version. Fir has a resinous, almost minty quality, cleaner than pine and crisper than cedar. Fir balsam (the sticky resin) adds a sweet, slightly sappy warmth on top of the needle's coolness. Common in winter fragrances and outdoorsy compositions. Pairs well with vetiver, juniper, and incense. A heart note that fades over a few hours.
